Our Policies at Liam’s Adventure Days
Liam's Activity Days operates under the umbrella of Adventure Days LTD, who hold the relevant AALA license and insurance. All adventurous activities are delivered in accordance with their guidelines and oversight, ensuring safety and compliance. Manchester Activity Days manages its own client bookings, communications, and programming within this framework. Together we’re committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for every child who joins us. Below are our core policies that guide how we operate and care for your child.
1. Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
Your child’s safety is our top priority. All staff members are DBS-checked and trained in child protection. We follow clear safeguarding procedures to ensure every child feels safe, respected, and supported. We maintain appropriate adult-to-child ratios, and any concerns about a child’s welfare are taken seriously and reported through the proper channels. Children are never left unsupervised and are encouraged to speak up if they ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

2. Health & Safety Policy
We take every precaution to run a safe, secure, and professional programme. At Liam’s Adventure Days, all activities are delivered in line with the safety principles and best practices set out by Mountain Training, British Canoeing, and the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA). These respected bodies provide the national standards we follow for outdoor education and risk management. Before each session, we carry out detailed risk assessments, and all staff are trained in recognising and managing outdoor hazards — including water safety, weather considerations, and tool use. Our canoeing sessions include the use of high-quality, inspected equipment, including helmets and buoyancy aids, and are always led by qualified instructors. Activities like bushcraft, carving, and fire-lighting are carefully structured to balance fun with safety, using age-appropriate tools under close supervision. We also regularly inspect and maintain all gear and activity areas, and we adapt plans when needed to ensure a safe, engaging experience for every child.

3. First Aid & Medical Policy
We always have qualified first aiders on site, and we carry well-stocked first aid kits on all excursions. Parents must inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or medications via the consent form prior to the course. Medication (e.g. inhalers, EpiPens) must be labelled and handed to staff each morning. In the case of illness or injury, we will contact you immediately and act in line with your medical guidance.

4. Consent & Participation Policy
We require a completed consent form for every participant before the course begins. This form covers:
-
General participation approval
-
Permission to administer first aid
-
Emergency contact information
-
Photo/video consent (optional)
Without this form, children will not be allowed to take part. We ask that all information is completed honestly to help us plan for a safe and positive experience.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation terms are:
-
More than 2 weeks before the start date: Option for a 50% refund or free date transfer (subject to availability)
-
Within 2 weeks of the start date: No refund available
This policy helps us plan staffing, equipment, and logistics fairly for everyone.

6. Privacy Policy (GDPR Compliant)
Your personal data is safe with us. We collect only the information we need to run safe and legal activities (e.g. contact details, medical needs). We do not share your information with third parties and we store all data securely in line with UK data protection laws (GDPR). You can request to view or delete your data at any time.
7. Behaviour Policy
We aim to create a fun and respectful environment for all participants. Children are expected to follow simple behaviour rules: listen to instructors, treat others kindly, and look after equipment. If a child’s behaviour puts themselves or others at risk, we will speak with the parent/guardian. In serious cases, we may ask that a child does not return — though this is always a last resort.
8. Equal Opportunities & Inclusion Policy
Liam’s Adventure Days is open to everyone. We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all children, regardless of gender, ethnicity, background, or ability. If your child has specific needs, please contact us in advance — we’ll do everything we can to make accommodations and support their participation fully.

9. Complaints Policy
We value feedback and want to make things right. If you have any concerns or complaints, please raise them directly with Liam or the team. We will respond promptly, investigate fairly, and keep you informed of the outcome.

10. Environmental Responsibility Policy
We believe in leaving nature better than we found it. Children are taught to respect wildlife, manage waste properly, and minimize their environmental impact while outdoors. We use the “leave no trace” approach in all our activities — from fire safety to litter management.
